Peter Casolino, American, B. 1968. Photographer, Artist.

Studied painting and photography at Southern Connecticut State University. Casolino has worked as a photojournalist for the New Haven Register from 1991-2014. A recipient of numerous awards including National Press Photographer, Photographer of the Year for the New England Region (1994) and the Editor and Publisher photo of the year 2001 (100,000 circulation) 2012 NEAPNEA, New England Associated Press News Executives Association Award,and numerous Connecticut SPJ awards (1992-2014) In 2001 Casolino was nominated for the pulitzer Prize for photos of soldiers at ground zero. The photo is now part of the permanent collection at the 9/11 Museum in New York City.
